Often the things that we love with a deep seated passion hold roots back to things we enjoyed as children, or so I think. In this season of preparation for Christmas we often look back at things from our past, so I thought to share a few of my own roots that influence my style of roleplay in LARP and my choices of characters.
LARP is about escapism for many, a chance to put aside the day-to-day troubles of life and be something or someone a little different.
But although LARP is often outside the realm of modern society, it is still built around interactions with people. No roleplayer is an island, to steal a turn of phrase, and no roleplayer can do everything. We all have our own part to play through things we enjoy doing as part of our game, and I’d like to take the time to briefly talk about finding your mojo in LARP.

It’s rare that I share personal non-sewing / non-LARP posts on this website, but I had the pleasure of getting to see a show that I was super excited about when the concept was launched back in 2013 – Sting’s “The Last Ship”. This show, I feel, is as much a tale of the little people overcoming overwhelming despair, of love standing the test of time, as it is a love song for the people of the North East and Tyneside.
So, I’d like to write a bit about this wonderful story I got to experience and write a little love song of my own.

Once upon a time there was a place, that existed in the real world in many forms and in the world of the imagination. That place was named Prudha’s Ridge and I would like to share with you some of the inspirations that have built that mighty crumbling wreck of a castle – family home of my Feudal Knight Lady Judith Tirel, the Maid of Prudha’s Ridge.
This post is a little outside my usual posts of directly LARP related topics, mission write ups or the jumbled heap of sewing that I pull together at the end of the project. However, today I would like to share a few of the films / tv shows that get me in the mood to LARP at the moment. I hope you all enjoy a glimpse into my collection.
